Operation Petticoat - Torpedo

#MovieMonday - Starring Cary Grant and Tony Curtis, the comedy "Operation Petticoat" (1959) is about a fictional submarine but draws on several actual incidents from WWII including when USS Bowfin torpedoed a bus. Both the U.S. and Royal Navy also experimented with pink camouflage which was effective at dawn and dusk but significantly less so in the middle of the day. | U.S. Naval Institute
