I love hanging up our name lights after we finish them in small group to decorate the classroom. Students get so excited to find their name on the tree or around the room. There are so many benefits packed into this activity—one-to-one counting, patterning, name recognition, letter order, and name writing. It also builds fine motor skills, confidence, and gives them a meaningful way to see their work become part of our classroom environment.
